A man and van means that you will have a lot less help with moving things than if you used a removals company, but it will be a lot, lot cheaper, so if you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and getting involved, then you should be fine! Work out where to get your packing boxes for cheap. Whilst you need to avoid any faulty boxes, and keep safety in mind, there are always ways to find cheap boxes from various sources online. In some instances, you can even get them for free, which makes things a lot less expensive indeed! In the event that you find some cheap boxes somewhere, work out how much your travel expenses will be before you agree to them, and work out whether the savings are actually worth the hassle. Having new boxes delivered to your door may actually turn out to be only a little extra, which could be much more worthwhile use of your time than trekking ages to get the second hand ones!

Saving cash is easy if you are well planned and have time to work out how and when you are going to do so. However, it is essential that you don’t cut the important corners in a way that jeopardizes the safety of the move itself. Neglecting preparation and packing for the sake of a couple of quid is not going to help you in the long run.
