Having a few hints and tips will ensure that you are on the right track towards a green removal that will not cost the earth... In more ways than one.

Making a Move Less Stressful for You and Your Children

When moving home, you will have many tough chores to face. Staring with planning, you have to take into account every chore, every service, everything you will require, how much support is needed and so on. You will then have to buy an abundance of packing material and then heavy lifting is necessary and it can really take its toll, as boxes and furniture have to be carried in and out homes and vehicles.

The 3 packing mistakes to be avoided

Here you are. It is time for you to move out. This might stir up many feelings at the same time like anxiety, sadness, nostalgia, or maybe you feel happy and excited about it. What is sure is that leaving your current home does not leave you unmoved. Your relatives might be impacted as well, especially if you are going to live far from them. Nevertheless, to achieve a good packing, you have to put your feelings behind and think rationally. This is crucial if you want to have a pleasant start at your new place. For that there are 3 packing mistakes to be avoided by any cost.

Apprehending the late exchange of contracts when moving house

One of the most hazardous territories when it comes to moving home is the potential for everything to go wrong at the last minute. You will no doubt have spent months planning the removals with your removals company, and you will also have been packing for weeks to ensure that the whole process goes as smoothly as possible.

Booking a man and van for your rental removal

When you are renting a smaller house or flat, it is rare that you will need a full size removals company. Removals companies are perfect for completion day moves, where the pressure is on and time is of a premium, but with a rental, and a small one at that, you will likely only really need a man and van service. The beauty of the man and van comes in its flexibility. You will find that it is perfect for everything from getting things to and from storage units, to a full move of a small flat. Even just moving a little bit of furniture around town or some equipment to a venue or anything of the sort.

Moving Home – Prepare to Pack, Don’t Just Go Ahead and Do It

No one likes packing; that is simply a fact. When it comes to moving house, we tend to put it off as long as possible until we simply have no choice but to get it done. For those of us more prepared for the job, we still like to get it done as quickly as possible and it is only for a rare few that the idea of using this as an exercise in de-cluttering makes itself apparent. But those people are on the right track, because despite how important the packing is, the pre-pack is equally so.

The trouble with family removals

Or how removals can affect your kids

It goes with out saying, that moving house is a large upheaval. The process of taking everything that you own, packing them in to faceless boxes and moving them to a strange new place can be terribly exciting for an adult who has made the decision to move, but for those who are not instrumental in the decision, it can be rather less fun, in all honesty. Taking care of your family whilst moving may seem like something that any parent would do, but it is often easy to neglect them in a way,

Handling the stress of moving house can be difficult

When moving house, you will likely have an initial ‘honeymoon’ period where you are extremely excited about the prospect of a new place, and the different elements of doing it up, and making it your own. These feelings will likely be replaced fairly quickly by the cold dread that comes with realizing that you need to pack everything that you own and get it moved to the new place in order for the fun to start!

Before you move/day of move

  • Redirect all mail to your new mailing address.
  • Notify your utility providers (water, gas, electricity) to have your service turned off after your move and to connect them at your new address.
  • Notify us if you have any changes related to your move.
  • Make arrangements to move your plants and pets. Make sure plants are drained of excess water.
  • Drain the fuel from lawnmowers and other power equipment.
  • Disconnect all your white goods, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, etc.
  • If there is only off-street parking, please try to secure a car park space for our van there overnight.
